Back in 2000, at the height of the Internet boom and the onset of Tonic Software, Inc., the company's founders were in need of a website to attract potential investors. Michael Wilson, a colleague from my time at Esker, Inc., and I put this 10-page site up in a weekend.
design challenges: to develop a flexible site plan, sharpen a rough messaging outline, and design an interface that would be both engaging and progressive – in a weekend! The graphics theme utilized web browser terms and screenshots with a stong linear (scan line) motif. This conceptual approach was later extended to the company's stationery.
Note: Because almost everything about Tonic Software, Inc. has changed since 2000, the link above is to the prototype and not the actual (now, archived) site.
